Designing Effective Leadership Training for First-Line Supervisors: Game First or Concept First?

meghawadhwa
Hello Friends,

I need some guidance from all of you. I am designing a training program for the leadership development of the first-line supervisor. As per the needs, we have come across requirements like being empathetic, giving feedback, building a team, and communicating well. My main aim is to sensitize the role and build competency around these areas. I want to know whether I should start with a game where these issues come up or should I follow the structure of introducing the concept and then playing a game. I want to know how I can fulfill the aim of building competency.

Warm Regards,

Supervisor Training

For an effective approach, start with the concept so that the participants know 'what it is'.

Play the game so the participants know 'how', 'when', 'where', etc.

Replay the concept. This will reinforce the learning of 'what', 'when', 'how', 'where', etc.

Regards,
