Understanding Employment Letters
1. When a person is shortlisted for a certain position in the company, he/she is given an Offer Letter or a Letter of Intent.
2. After the person joins the company and all pre-joining formalities are completed, he/she is given an Appointment Letter.
3. During the probationary period, the employee's performance is assessed. Subject to satisfactory performance during this period, he/she is given a Confirmation Letter.
If the performance is not satisfactory, the probationary period may be extended as per the company's rules. In such cases, a Probation Extension Letter is issued.
If the employee's performance is poor/unacceptable, he/she is given a Termination Letter.
