Amendments to the Minimum Wages Act

The basic wage rates under the Minimum Wages Act have been amended. I would like to know about the amendments, including whether they are retrospective and the date of effect.

Amended basic wage rates are effective from 28th September 2010.

Thank you. One more query: the special allowance rates for 1st July 2010 to 31st Dec. 2010 for 'Factories under Factories Act' are reduced from 19th July. What is the reason?

I do not know the reason, but most companies are still paying Rs. 1394.00 as special allowances and not the revised SA of Rs. 561.75. As per the government circulars, it should be 5800 + 561.75 = 6361.75 for the skilled category.
