Minimum Wages Act Changes in Maharashtra: Are They Retroactive and When Do They Start?


The Basic Wage rates under Minimum Wages Act are amended. I want to know about the amendments, whether retrospective and date of effect.

Thank you. One more query: the special allowance rates for 1st July 2010 to 31st Dec. 2010 for 'Factories under Factories Act' are reduced from 19th July. What is the reason?

I do not know the reason, but most companies are still paying Rs. 1394.00 as special allowances and not the revised SA of Rs. 561.75. As per the government circulars, it should be 5800 + 561.75 = 6361.75 for the skilled category.
