When Is the Deadline to Submit Holiday Lists to the Labor Office and How to Do It?

Dear All, please tell me what is the last date to declare the holiday list and in which form it should be submitted to the Labor Office.

The last date to declare the holiday list to the labor office is 30th November 2010, as per The National & Festival Holiday Act, 1963, in Form A. Please find attached a copy of the List of Holidays for 2011 for your information.

If your establishment is covered under the Shops & Establishment Act, then go through your applicable State Shops Act and see whether the Act requires the submission of a list of holidays to the labor office. Take action accordingly.

Hi Khola, Thanks for your reply. We registered with Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments. My company is into software development and implementation. Is it applicable to the software industry? Please guide me.

Please go through your state Shops Act & applicable Rules to see whether we are required to send any list of holidays to the Inspector or any other officer of the area.

I read the state Shops Act but couldn't find the clause there. Maybe there is no clause stating that. Thank you for your assistance.

Dear Ashwini, we are not supposed to send any list of holidays to the Inspector of the area. We are to grant national and festival holidays to the employees as provided by the Act.

Please provide me with the holiday list for Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi NCR states as per the Labour Department (Shops and Establishment Act). It is very urgent. Please help me. I am awaiting your reply.

According to the Punjab Shops & Establishment Act, 1958, as applicable to the State of Haryana, we are required to allow three national and five festival holidays to employees each year.
