How Do You Structure Onsite Salaries and Allowances for Long-Term Projects in Kuwait?

Hi,

Can anybody help me with getting a clear salary structure provided to employees going onsite, for example, 1 year to 3 years? Are there any separate allowances given for daily expenses? We have a project coming up from Kuwait, and we need to submit a proposal for the staffing budget.

Hi,

I assume you don't have an office in Kuwait, and your employees will be working at the client site. Keeping the above in mind, you need to create an overseas travel policy and categorize it into short and long term. Short term refers to stays of 0-180 days, while long term is for stays beyond 180 days.

Accordingly, allocate a per diem allowance (PDA) to the employees. The PDA covers expenses such as meals, laundry, conveyance, and miscellaneous expenses. The company can request the client to provide accommodation. Therefore, the employee will still receive their Indian salary along with the PDA.

When finalizing the PDA, please consider the following factors:
- Cost of living in Kuwait
- Availability of public transport, including frequency and cost
- Distance from residence to office

I hope the above information is helpful.

Thank you, Richa, for your prompt response.

Yes, we don't have an office in Kuwait, and they are going to stay for more than 180 days. Can anyone share with me the policies that are in existence for the USA and European regions?

Regards, KVS
