Are you designing the matrix for the reporting structure in the HR processes? Generally, matrices are formed when the process requires multi-level decision-making, such as recruitment targets being given by the business heads. The HR head might allocate a part of the budget and strategize the recruitment. However, the recruitment executives would report to the HR head and, in a dotted line, to the business heads. This particularly happens when the leaders are geographically located. The recruitment executive might share the recruitment tracker with the HR head and the business unit head. The executive might take directions from his supervisors and support from the business units to incorporate the plans.
