Is EPF Registration Mandatory for Start-Ups with Growing Teams? Seeking Clarity!

I am from a start-up organization. Currently, our employee strength is 10 and will be 50 by next month end. I want to know:

1. Is it compulsory to be registered under EPF?
2. Under what conditions can our organization be exempted from EPF?
