Understanding PF Deductions: Should It Be Based on Full Basic + DA or Just Rs. 6,500?

k_saccratis
Dear All,

Please help me. Is PF supposed to be deducted based on the actual Basic + DA, or is it sufficient to deduct PF only for Rs.6,500/- (Rs.780/-)?

With regards,

Hi. The wages/salary includes Basic Pay + D.A. + Any Concessional Food Value. Please read section 2-F of the EPF & MP Act 1952, i.e., Definitions and Contributions, etc.

Contribution up to 6500 is compulsory. If it is crossed, it can be restricted up to 6500 and requires the consent of the employee if one wants to restrict it; otherwise, it will continue automatically.

If an employee has left the company and, after one year, rejoins the same company, can he continue his previously running PF account, or will he have to nominate again if he hasn't made a withdrawal?

Ashish
