Why Is HR Delaying My Offer Letter Update? Seeking Advice on Next Steps

jerryjerry
Hi all,

I am really confused with the response from HR at one company. I appeared for an interview with the company and was informed that I had been selected. I received the offer letter a week later. However, on the same day, they mentioned that my package had been revised, and they would send an updated letter. It has been a month now, and I still have not received the revised letter. Every time I call them, they assure me that they will send it very soon. I am in a dilemma about what to do. Can anyone help me understand why HR has put things on hold?

Thanks
Dinesh Divekar
Dear Jerry,

The management might have decided to put on hold the filling up of this vacancy. How can HR tell you their internal matters? HR acts according to the wishes of the management.

Hi Jerry,

I agree with Dinesh that the HR department may be experiencing some internal issues, but it is important that they also communicate something positive, especially after you have received an offer letter. However, since you really can't help yourself in this situation, please be patient.

Dear Mr. Ravishankar,

Not all HR professionals are arrogant. It completely depends on the situation.

I think you should not wait for them. If you really want to switch, go and find another opportunity. Don't wait for them as a month has passed, and they haven't replied to you yet. Usually, management puts vacancies on hold, and they don't provide clear answers to candidates. So, freshen up your mind and try your luck somewhere else.

Is the date of joining mentioned in your offer letter? If so, you can ask for an explanation because you have received an offer letter.

Yes I too agree sir, But HR have to get clearance from the management or it may be for fixing the CTC or in need of any referrals or for any verification.
I would like to say “When you have done your best, you can await the result in peace”.

There could be many reasons why you might have found something fishy in your career, profile, or background check. The position might have been put on hold or someone else could have been offered a better prospect than you.

Tip: Call or email and ask for the joining date.

Don't panic, keep this current offer option open, and continue your job search. Don't live by assumptions.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Some of the companies in the IT sector are still playing it safe by collecting resumes and determining the cost and experience of potential candidates. Given its nature as a support function, HR induction may receive lower priority. Ultimately, the decision will depend on your skill set and experience.

Dear Jerry,

Why the dilemma? That door is closed. Go to that company, meet them, finalize, and come. Based on the acceptance of the Offer Letter, if you've put in your papers, it will be the worst scenario. Think and decide. Otherwise, go for the next job search. If you are talented, you will definitely succeed.

Good luck.

Thanks, B. Deepu

Hi,

It may be due to their internal issues. Please confirm with them directly and settle the matter or continue with your job and keep trying another one. I feel don't come to any conclusion before you have a final word with them.

I think you should not worry about this organization. They do not deserve your services. It is good this happened to you before you joined them. So look for greener pastures elsewhere. If you are confident and look for suitable networking, you will get one soon.
