Regarding Welfare Officer Qualification

hi everyone,
Is there any compulsion that a welfare officer should be MSW.
MBA (Human Resource) can't be Welfare officer..
i am working in a garment export co.
kindly give me suggetions....

In Maharashtra MBA are to eligile to qualify Labour Welfare Officer Interview but the MSW & MPM or Diploma / Degree in Labour Law/ Welfare.
I am certified Labour Welfare Officer in Maharashtra

Dear Taashi,
Required qualification for Labour Welfare Officer is given in the respective states Factory Act rules. As in MP Factory act rules it is specified that
A person shall not be eligible for appointment as a welfare officer, unless he
a. possesses a degree of a University recognised by the State government in this behalf
b. has obtained a degree or diploma in Social Science from any institution recognised by the state government in this behalf and
c. has adequate knowledge of Hindi as also of the language spoken by the majority or the workers in the factory to which he is to be attached.
For this perpose u can contact to your local laboure office also.

1st of all pl. note that MBA is not a presribed qualification for Welfare officer. Required qualification for Labour Welfare Officer is given in the respective states Factory Act rules

All the Universities and Deemed Universities recognised by the UGC should be accepted by the Government, until unless any restriction imposed by the appropriate government due to certain reason.
Any Law degree, PGDPM&IR, MSW are eligible for Labour Welfare Officer vacancy.
Here the major concern is that the person appointed as Labour Welfare Officer must have adequate knowledge about the Labour Welfare / Safety Measures, and some knowledge on ID Act is essential to handle any situation.
