How Are Leaves Divided in the Sugar Industry? Seeking Insights from Industry Peers

Hi Friends, I would like to know the bifurcation of leaves provided to an employee in the Sugar Industry. Specifically, how many CLs, SLs, and ELs are given per year? Friends working in the Sugar Industry would be ideal to help me out. Your help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Julie

For seasonal workmen:

1. Casual Leave - Calculated at the rate of half a day for every month of the crushing season during which the workmen are on the roll. A period exceeding 15 days in any month shall be counted as a full month for leave purposes.

2. Sickness Leave - Calculated at the rate of half a day for every month of the crushing season during which the workmen are on the roll. A period exceeding 15 days in any month shall be counted as a full month for leave purposes.

3. Earned Leave - One day for every 20 days of actual working.

Note: Seasonal workmen required to work in the off-season shall be allowed proportionate benefits of sickness and casual leave for the period of their employment during the off-season to the same extent as admissible to them in the crushing season.

For permanent workmen:

- Casual Leave: Six (6) days in a year.
- Sickness Leave: Ten (10) days in a year.
- Earned Leave: One day for every 20 days of actual working.

Hope this meets your requirements.
