New Job and PF Form 11: Is It Normal to Fill This Out Again After Previous Deductions?

nihalsayed
Hello,

I am a new member to this site, so please excuse me for any errors. If a new joiner is asked to fill in Form 11 despite the fact that there were PF deductions with his previous employer, what will this eventually result in? Is this a common practice?

I need some advice on this. Thank you.

When an employee declares that they have never been a member of the PF through Form-11 of EPF, there is no harm. However, it is important to remember that their salary (basic + DA) should be more than 6500/-.

Mandatory Forms for EPF Membership

Now, it is mandatory to fill out both Form 2 (Nomination form) and Form 11.

In Form 11, if you declare that you have never been a member of the EPF in the past, you have the option to either join or get an exclusion from the scheme if your salary is above Rs. 6500/- (Basic + DA). On the other hand, if you declare that you have been a member of the EPF scheme in the past and your salary exceeds Rs. 6500/- at present, you must continue the membership (you can't get an exclusion).
