Maternity Benefit Act Changes: Can Anyone Explain the New 6-Month Extension?

Hi, can someone help me with the latest amendments in the Maternity Benefit Act? I heard that it has now been extended from 3 months to 6 months.

Under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961, this benefit is only for 84 days, and we have not heard any proposal for any amendment in the period of maternity benefit.

I had also heard that these leaves were revised from 84 days to 6 months. However, I confirmed with our company's legal lawyer, and he clarified that the 6-month act is only applicable to the Government and Semi-Government sectors, not for Public Ltd. and Ltd. Companies.
