Understanding Labor Categories and Minimum Wages: Where Do ITI Graduates Fit In?

amitjainlg
Hi all,

Could somebody tell me the difference between skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled labor? Is there any notification available that provides these details?

Under which category do ITI pass-out students from the CTS scheme fall?

Additionally, could you provide the notification or guidelines regarding the breakup of minimum wages? Are mobile and conveyance reimbursements considered part of minimum wages?

Thank you.

Dear Amit,

ITI pass-out students from CTS scheme are considered as Skilled Labour. You can obtain the notification from the labor commission office upon request. The minimum wages vary from state to state. Its applicability depends on the Minimum Wages Act and Shops & Establishments Act; whichever sets a higher rate. The minimum wage includes basic pay plus dearness allowance (DA). Mobile and conveyance reimbursements are not included in the minimum wage.

Hi,

ITI persons will be covered under Skilled Labors. Minimum wages breakup will vary from zone to zone in a city, like the city, Panchayat. It would be best if you checked with your area's Minimum Wages Act Book.

Thanks & Regards,
