Feeling Stuck in Telecom Job Hunt: How to Choose the Right Path and Consultancy?

devendrakrishna01
I completed B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering in 2009. As a fresher, I am keen on pursuing a career in the telecom-Network/O&M/Switch sector. Unfortunately, I have not yet achieved success in this field.

Last month, I applied for the Nokia Siemens Graduate Engineer Trainee position. However, due to an issue with the online registration process, I missed this opportunity. Currently, there are no openings for freshers in companies like Nokia, Nokia Siemens, Ericsson, Huawei, ZTE, etc., based on my search. This situation has left me feeling disappointed.

Several placement consultancies are offering job opportunities but are requesting fees ranging from 30,000 to 40,000 for training and placement services. There seems to be a significant disparity in the salaries being offered upon placement, with some offering 8,000-10,000 and others 17,000-20,000. Moreover, these consultancies are unclear about the job provider companies. How can I identify the right consultancy to secure a job in the telecom sector?

I am also uncertain about choosing among the fields of RF planning, Survey/BTS, or BSS O&M/Switching. While I am prepared to work diligently, I want to select a field that offers promising future growth and financial prospects.

Considering my aspiration to work in the UAE or another desirable country after gaining 3-4 years of experience, I seek guidance on the best course of action to achieve this goal.
