The muster Roll & Wages Registers are maintained as per applicability of the Labour enactment to the Establishment. We can also maintain Muster Roll -Cum- Wages Register in the combined manner if the same is allowed under the Act under which we are required to maintain these registers. We have number of labour laws i.e. State & Central which requires us to maintain wages & attendance registers. State Shops & Establishment Act & Rules, The Factories Act & Rules, The Contract Labour ( R&A) Act & Rules, The Minimum Wages Act & Rules etc. have provisions on maintenance of these registers & therefore you first examine which of the Act is applicable to your establishment & then go through the Rules of that Act to find out the form NO. & the Rule No. in those Rules.

Under Bombay Shops & Establishment Act this register is used it is called " Muster cum Wages Register Rule Form II [See Rule 27(1)]"

Muster roll is Form No.25, but here in haryana.
about rule No. in Mumbai I am not awar e of it.

Under Bombay shop and Establishment Act, it is Form number 2 under sec. 27. You can get the register in stationary shop.

If you want to get registration certificate for employing contract labourers
Under the Contract Labour (R&A) Act, 1970 for your unit then go through your applicable State Rules for getting the details for obtaining R C. In general this No. is Form-1.

I belong to an IT/ITeS firm at Bangalore. I need to get exemption from the local labour dept. from maintaining attendance register and wage register. We maintain it online ( excel sheets ).
