The muster Roll & Wages Registers are maintained as per applicability of the Labour enactment to the Establishment. We can also maintain Muster Roll -Cum- Wages Register in the combined manner if the same is allowed under the Act under which we are required to maintain these registers. We have number of labour laws i.e. State & Central which requires us to maintain wages & attendance registers. State Shops & Establishment Act & Rules, The Factories Act & Rules, The Contract Labour ( R&A) Act & Rules, The Minimum Wages Act & Rules etc. have provisions on maintenance of these registers & therefore you first examine which of the Act is applicable to your establishment & then go through the Rules of that Act to find out the form NO. & the Rule No. in those Rules.
