You can measure the business performance through financial ratios. You can measure the individual through KRAs. Both the performances, business or individual can be measured through KPI also.

Performace of an employee has been observed by various parameters like time management, leadership qualities , communication, external people from the industry, maturity, willingness, patience, domain knowledge, situation handling, stress management,sensitivity, grooming and so on..... Apartfrom these parameters your personal observation is also a scale to measure an employees performance..
