Steps to Obtain Registration Under BOCW Act

For obtaining registration under the BOCW Act, you need to first send the notice of commencement of work to the labor authorities. Then, submit the application using Form I, along with a Demand Draft (DD) and a copy of the work order.

You can easily download Form I from the internet or refer to the Bare Act of BOCW.

Is a labor license required if we have fewer than 10 employees per location of deployment, and the total number of locations is 15? Do we need to check the above in all states separately? Urgent opinion will be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, a few days ago, I joined a small construction company in Visakhapatnam. I discovered that the company has not obtained a labor license yet and has also not registered for PF, since the number of employees and laborers is currently fewer than 20. However, the company is now planning to expand its staff and workers to 150 (30 staff + 100 laborers).

Licenses and Registrations Needed for Expansion

Could you please advise me on how many licenses I need to obtain/register for the organization once we exceed 20 members? This would include Contract Labor License, Inter-State Migrant Labor License (as some workers are from other states), PF, ESI (if applicable), and BOCW.

Please go to the nearest Meeseva centre and ask for the relevant form. They will then assist you in registering your establishment under the BOCW Act and obtaining a license under the Contract Labour Act.

You can register for PF and ESI online. If you encounter any difficulties, you can visit the ESI Branch Office at Gajuwaka, where they can assist you in this matter.
