Pondicherry University - one year PG Diploma programme of HR management

Dear HR Professionals, If anyone can throw some light on the Pondicherry University and its one year PG Diploma programme of HR management course through distance mode.

Pl. check whether it is approved course. Out of my personal experiences, any distant mode education does not help you to fetch out any job. Rather to say, distant mode of education is given a little weightage...

I would like to pursue course through distance mode because I am in Job and cannot go for regular class. I have a little bit idea that correspondence courses are not give due weigtage but the certificate can be substantiated by the real and practical knowledge. So in this case it is not the certificate that will fetch the job but the certificate will colour the person with professional qualification.

Certificate courses wil add weightage for our promotion, salary revision etc. In fact i too have a plan to do some Dip in LL. But choose the right university for the course.

I agree with you.. It depends on the profession you are taking up. If you are opting for Teaching profession, there are little chances for the Distance Courses. If you are likely in a Corporate Sector, the distance course are a great boon to enhance one's own knowledge.

It is a central University under Ministry of Human Resouce Govt of India.The syllabus and standards are good.You need to get 50% minimum to pass.Only my advise to you is check they have twinning programme whcih is run by university/Insitute at your place.You can work and attend evening course.MBA(HRM) avilable.Course fee also reasonalble/affordable.
