Thank you for your reply. This afternoon, I went through the Act and calculated the compensation. I am working in Ariyalur (TN) and have had the compensation amount approved by the insurance company. Could you please advise me on how to locate the nearest WC Commissioner officer who can help us settle the amount?

In my view, you should approach your nearest State Labour Office where you have met with the accident. In most cases, the labor department officers work in the capacity of the Commissioner of Workmen's Compensation under the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923. Sometimes, these powers are vested with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Presiding Officer of the Labor Court/Industrial Tribunal. Therefore, please obtain this information from the Labor Office.
