How Can I Improve Our Leave Policy for a Small Company with 65 Employees?

Hi friends,

Please provide me with detailed information about the leave policy at my company. We have only 65 employees, and currently, the company allows only earned leave. However, as a new HR professional, I am interested in implementing a new leave policy. Please advise me on this matter.

Hi,

As your company falls under the Shops and Establishment Act, every employee who has served for 240 days or more during a continuous period of 12 months is eligible for the following leaves during the subsequent twelve months: leave with wages and earned leave, which can be accumulated for up to a maximum period of sixty days.

The leave entitlements are as follows:
1. Earned Leaves: 15 Days per Annum
2. Casual Leaves: 12 Days per Annum
3. Sick Leaves: 12 Days per Annum

Only 8 earned leaves can be encashed with wages per annum; not more than that.

Leave Policy for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

This leave policy is applicable to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana only. The rest of the states have their own policies. Please refer to the Shops and Establishments Acts for more information.
