What To Look For In A Good Hris - Doc Download

Hello Friends,
Our office is currently shifting to an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System that will include an HRIS.
Based on the presentation I've heard --- SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Axapta ---all seems to be "cook book" that can do the required HR Functions.
Can anyone tell me what to look for in a good HRIS?
Would appreciate your advise.
Thank you.

A good HRIS should have ;
1. On line Payslip
2. Leave approval and status on line
3. Appraisal online
4. HR Forum
5. On line tax declarations and status
6. On line statutory compliance status.
If your organisation is not very big...you can opt for simpler solutions like Web Enabled Payroll System from outsourced vendors and they even take care of compliance etc and costs much less than SAP or Oracle HRIS.

Dear Satish,
Sorry for the late reply. Our organization is a conglomerate of 7 strategic business units (SBU). These SBUs are engaged in Petroleum Shipping, Ship Building, Waste Treatment, Livestock breeding, Bunker trading and Building adminsitration. We are composed of 480 employees and is backed by an average of 600 contactual employees designated in the various projects. It is a family owned organization that is still growing with new SBUs being planned.
Ou objective is to move HR services to cater to all the SBUs. Thus the need for a good HRIS.
Thank you.
