I am looking after HR function of a small start up jv in public sector, an HR audit has to be conducted and i have little clue of the subject and process involved, can someone guide me? Thanks in anticipation.

HR audit basically involves checking the status of the organization in respect of the HR policies and procedures I.e. to know whether the company is following the HR policies, the extent of non-compliance, reasons therefor etc.

Thank you avika for explaining the whole in a nutshell:) I have two questions based on your response, 1. HR Policy- is it only what the company folmulates or are there any regulations governing the same? and 2. Non- compliances with what, only the policies or others as well?
Does it also include analysis of job contents of employees etc?

HR policy including statutory, legal and specifics by company will be taken in to consideration for HR Audit. HR processes,procedures, systems etc can come under this. Purpose is to evaluate entire HR function to add value to processes and boost business performance.

It would include corporate policies as well as the legal requirements.
There are no specific regulations for HR audit.
