look at the viability of the product. also look at a few things below:
1. cost of the product
2. who are its competitor
3. usp of the product
4. target customer
5. how and where you plan to place the product - premium segment or normal segment
then after analysing the pros and cons go to the company and give your plan in a neat presentation, supported by facts, figures and analysis (if you can). be prepared for some tough questioning. in case of any negative feedback, don't get disheartened. go back to the drawing board and come back with watertight and comfortable presentation.
most importantly, put yourself in the shoes of the company and analyse the product - its strength and weakness. this will help you to meet the company people confidently
