Understanding Leave Policies in Uttar Pradesh: Are Sick and Casual Leaves Mandatory Alongside Earned Leave?

Is it mandatory to provide sick leave or casual leave to an employee in addition to earned leave? Are there any minimum number of leaves that must be granted to an employee each year?

First, examine the Act(s) which is/are applicable to your establishment in relation to the grant of different leaves, including those of casual and sick leaves. Then, go through the leave provisions for your query.

Minimum and maximum leave should be granted to employees as per the state rules of NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh.

Dear Member, In our opinion, you are to adhere to the applicable Act & Rules. Minimum leaves are to be given to the employees as required by law, and maximum leaves are to be declared by the employer at his own discretion or under any agreement reached between the employees and employer. You have not mentioned the applicable state rules. Statutory Leaves Statutory leaves are to be granted as per the applicable law. Your unit may be covered under the Factories Act or State S&E law. Leaves are to be examined after the finalization of the applicable Act.
