Struggling to Find a Good HR Job After MBA? Seeking Advice on Career Paths and Opportunities

jasmeet
Hello everyone,

I'm Jasmeet and just about to complete my MBA in HR (major specialization) and Marketing (minor). I have started looking for jobs and even posted my resume on various sites on the internet. However, all I am coming across are consultancies, and they are offering just about 5000-8000!!! Can you please help and advise me on where to look and how to find an opening in generalist HR? Also, what scope does HR research have in store?

Looking forward to your help.

Thank you,
Jasmeet

Hey Jasmeet,

Saurav here from Chennai. Don't worry, even I am facing the same problem as I am also a fresher in MBA (HR). Can you explain to me the job of an HR Generalist? I am eager to know as I have no idea about it. Thank you, boss. Please do reply as soon as possible. Bye. Take care, paaji... :)

Hi Jasmeet,

You are quite right! For freshers, especially in the HR domain, jobs are hard to find despite a market boom. I also got a job as an HR Executive in a construction company in Kolkata a few months back, and let me say very candidly it was due to one of my seniors in the same company at a very good post. So, I will advise you all to maintain a good connection with your seniors in your area. Don't be disheartened. Keep trying, and you will soon find that lady luck will smile upon you.

Hi Jasmeet,

This is Vijay, working as a Recruiter. It's tough for HR freshers to get a job in Corporate and gain experience in consultancy for at least one year; then you can easily get through to companies. Even I am a fresher working in consultancy. If you have good references in the HR field, you can easily enter the corporate world.

Hi Jasmeet,

I can very well understand your problem and situation. I'm facing the same. Please utilize your campus placements (if any) to the hilt. I can tell you from experience that campus placement is the best and easiest way to recruitment for a fresher in HR.

Do keep trying and keep your chin up. With persistence and perseverance, you will get a good job.

Good luck!!

Regards,
Leks
