Closed My Bank Account Before PF Withdrawal – Can I Change the Account Details Now?

I had submitted the forms for PF closure to my employer. According to the norms, I submitted a canceled check from my Citibank account. However, the entire process has been taking so long that recently, I accidentally closed the account. The PF amount has not yet been credited to my account. Is there any way I can ask them for a change of account?

Inform your employer through a simple letter that your Citibank account has been closed. Provide them with the details of any other account where you wish your PF amount to be credited, along with a copy of the canceled cheque for that account. They should update their records and process the claim accordingly.

I go with Avika. Check with the PF office online (if you can) on the payment status as well. That's why we generally have a permanent account and one salary account and give the permanent account as a reference.

My PF office is located in Mumbai, specifically in Malad and Kandivali. My PF number is KD/MAL/22181/717. I am unable to obtain the details of my PF status.
