How Can I Reduce Service Tax on My Contract Salary in a Government Job?

Hello friends, I have joined a Government organization on a contract basis for two years. My monthly salary is Rs. 35,000, out of which 10.33% service tax will be deducted as per the contract. Can anyone please tell me how to save on this service tax? Thank you.

Dear Sir,

I believe that TDS (income tax) should be deducted instead of service tax as required by law. You can claim a refund of the tax paid from the income tax department in your income tax return for the year.
