Maternity Leave in Kerala: Is the 180-Day Policy Mandatory for All Companies?

Hi all,

It's regarding the enhancement of Maternity Leave. The Kerala government has increased maternity leave up to 180 days. I would like to know whether this enhancement of Maternity Leave is applicable to all companies/IT firms in Kerala. Is it mandatory to change the company's leave policy in light of this enhancement?

In case we have not updated the leave policy, what are the consequences? If anyone has details about this, please help.

This notification is applicable to only female government employees, and therefore you have nothing to do with this for your company employees. You must have also gone through it.
