Feeling Stuck with a Pay Cut After Relocating for Work – How Would You Handle This?

Dear friends,

This is Ramesh, working as an Officer in Charge in our organization at Hubli Branch. For the past year, I have been receiving a very low salary of Rs. 6500. When I was working in the Bangalore branch, doing fieldwork, I was receiving Rs. 12,000 every month, including conveyance extra. One day, the company offered me my present job with a salary of Rs. 10,500, which I accepted for the opportunity and relocated to the Hubli branch. However, my first month's salary here was Rs. 10,350, and since then, it has been less than Rs. 6000.

I kindly request your suggestions regarding this situation and its impact on my life.

Thank you.

You could have asked when your salary is reduced in the second month itself. There can be regional variations in salary. If you are not satisfied with the salary, search for a better job. If you are capable, you will certainly get a better position with a better salary and facilities. Wish you all the best.

Post your resume on job sites such as naukri.com, monster.com, etc. Attend interviews while you are in your current job, and you may find something suitable at a nearby location. Remember that jobs are challenging to secure these days, but good employees are scarce nowadays. Even a security job can pay more than 6k or 8k.

I agreed for this - you can do this.

Post your resume on job sites such as naukri.com, monster.com, etc. Attend the interviews while you are in your present job, and you may find something at your nearest location that suits you.

Remember that jobs are difficult to get these days, but good employees are hard to find nowadays. Even a security job can earn more than 6k or 8k.

Dear Ramesh,

Please clarify whether you are working under the same company for which you have received payments of Rs. 12000.00 and Rs. 6000.

Thank you.

Buddy, this does not look like a transfer... rather a demotion.

Immediately check your HR in charge.

Hi, you have to ask your seniors in your department for this, maybe for your performance or due to the recession, your salary is low. Alternatively, you can look for another job, but it might be better for you to stay in this job for a short period and then pursue a new job.

As other CiteHR friends have mentioned, it is challenging to find a new job in this recession.

Dear Sajid Ansari,

Please clarify your wording: "I got my 1st-month salary Rs. 10,350/- after that it is less than 6000/-."

It is not clear; please specify your exact salary.

Best Regards,
Sajid Ansari - Delhi
