ESI Medical Facilities: Can Ram Use Any Dispensary in His State or Only the Registered One?

Dear Sir,

Please brief us about: Suppose Ram is employed in a Limited Company, and he comes under ESI slab and has an ESI card. Can he get the medical facility from a particular dispensary where his name/card is registered, or can he avail it within the State/District where any other ESI dispensary falls?

An employee can avail medical facilities from the dispensary where his card is.

Let me add a note to my earlier post of 2009. As per the new scheme introduced by the ESIC, an insured employee and his family members can receive treatment from any dispensary in India using the newly introduced smart card of the ESIC. To locate the nearest dispensary, you have to inquire at the local ESIC office.
