How Do I Claim Local Conveyance Allowance for My Commute to Work?

Please, can someone tell me how I can claim local conveyance allowance from my company? How is it applicable from residence to the office and vice versa?

Dear Mr. Bahuguna,

You cannot claim any reimbursement of conveyance expenses for commuting from your residence to office and vice versa if the conveyance allowance is not a part of your salary. However, if you are required to go out of the office for official work, you can claim reimbursement of conveyance by producing the bills or as may be the practice in your organization.
