Maternity Leave During Probation: Can My Wife Take It While Working at a Private School?

Hi,

My wife has been working with a private school since October 2008, and there is a probation period of one year. During the probation period, is an employee eligible for maternity leave?

Dear Prashant,

In my opinion, the probation period is not a hurdle in getting maternity benefits by a female employee from her employer if this Act is applicable to the establishment where she is working.
