Navigating Labor Licenses: Should We Apply for All Employees or Just Site-Specific Ones?

Sunil Sharma
Dear All,

Can you suggest to me what the procedure is for a labor license? We are a service provider in Environmental Engineering and have more than 100 employees in Haryana at various sites, though not at a specific site. Currently, we have over 20 employees at a particular site.

My question is, should we apply for a labor license for the entire workforce of 100 employees or only for the 20 at the specific site? I am eagerly awaiting your valuable suggestions.

Thanks & Regards,

Dear Sunil,

If you are having projects in different states, you need to obtain a license from the respective state labour authority because the rules and regulations vary from one state to another.

Dear Sunil,

You are required to apply for the grant of a contract labor license under the Contract Labor (R&A) Act, 1970, and The Haryana CL (R&A) Rules, 1975 for the specific site which employs 20 or more contract laborers.
