Under which of the enactment you are requiring these registers. Book-seller of your city must be having these registers. These registers seems to be of Factories Act,1948 & of State Labour Welfare Fund Act.

Dear Hema,
This adult register is required to be maintained as per the provisions of Factories Act & the Rules made thereunder. We are to maintain this register in respect of the persons/employees as defined under section 2(l) of the Factories Act, 1948.

Can Adult register contain the details of retired employees/workers
And
Does details of Directors form part of that register

In any case, details of the directors will not be updated in the Registers of Adult workers, because they are not "workers" as per definition of the Factories Act. Instead details of the directors will be updated in the Register of Members as per Companies Act, 2013, even if they are working in the factory. Furthermore, requirement of maintaining Register of Adult Workers depends upon the state rules.
For Eg : In maharashtra, Register of Adult Workers need to be maintained on annual basis. That mean if any person is retired last year, or left the organisation last year will not be updated in the current year's Register.
