How Can We Effectively Educate Unskilled Workers on Health and Hygiene?

Hello seniors,

We are a trading firm with 150 employees, most of whom are at an unskilled level. We aim to educate them on health, hygiene, good habits, etc. Can anyone help me in this context on how to make the information understandable, possibly through safety and health pictures, etc.?

You have to take photos of your employees and prepare a presentation on do's and don'ts. Display it at prominent places. You can create awareness on a healthy lifestyle - importance of exercise, handwashing, effects of smoking and alcohol, HIV awareness, cardiovascular disease, balanced diet, sleeping, stress, and relaxation.

Create a group of trainers among the workers and ask them to handle, put up a wall magazine, and displays on health and safety issues. Organize first aid through St. John's and involve the Block Health Educator if available in your State Health Services.

You can seek the help of an HSE consultant in Baroda or Chandigarh. They can take photographs and create films or presentations of areas where workers make mistakes, exhibit unsafe conditions, or engage in unsafe acts. These visual aids help in understanding the situation and correcting mistakes.

Working for four years as a contract laborer with a contractor does not entitle him to the benefits of a regular worker.
