I am facing a problem. I have been working with a company for the last 3 months. The job profile is not what I expected when I joined. Divya: There is no notice period mentioned in the appointment letter. The company just terminated a colleague last week without any notice or compensation. I am very important to them because the software expertise I possess is unique in India.

Parasurampur: There were no terms and conditions specified in the appointment letter. I have already had a meeting with the new company, and they are okay with everything. I have informed them about the current situation.

Many companies just focus on sales jobs. You could have spoken with those who are already employed there to understand their reasons for leaving. It is better to address this issue with someone who is familiar with the industry.

I think you are in a tight spot. If the new company has no objections to your background, meaning if you are finally selected, just collect the offer letter first. If you are in the notice period, you can serve that period; otherwise, you have to pay in lieu of it only. They have the right to recover this part only. Nothing happens if you leave a company immediately when your appointment has no expression of a termination clause. Your employer is a bad company. Leave them immediately, and no police or court can entertain them if they intimidate an employee.
