Is the Minimum Wages Act Applicable to Technical Educational Institutes in West Bengal?

This is my first posting since I have come into the Network. Anyway, if any of our friends can let me know whether the "Minimum Wages Act" is applicable for Educational Institutes (Technical) or not, if yes, what are the procedures and the rate of "Minimum Wages" in West Bengal for the same.

Dear Suhas Mukherjee,

Educational institutes have not been included in the list of scheduled employments in the state of West Bengal so far, and these institutions are not covered under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948. Therefore, no minimum wages notification is to be issued by the government for the employees working in these institutions. I have gathered this information from the site 'paycheck.in'.

Can anyone share the minimum wage rates as per the Minimum Wages of Maharashtra for educational institutes? Also, I need to know why educational institutes are not included as scheduled employment in the list of minimum wages.
