Mystery on the Road: Can You Solve How the Stranger Got Inside the Locked Car?

A man and a woman were driving in their car when it broke down. The man decided to go for help at a gas station a few miles back. He made sure nobody was in the car, rolled all the windows up, and locked all of the sedan's doors. He went off, but when he came back, his wife was dead, and there was a stranger in the car. No physical damage was done to the car, so how did the stranger get in? :)

Car breaking down doesn't mean that the car has broken into pieces; it means either:

a) The engine would have seized.
b) There was no gas or petrol.
c) There was some repair needed in the car parts, etc.

He went to the gas station to get some help from the mechanic there. After he came back, the car was in good condition. This doesn't mean that the issue has been sorted out; it means that the car was as it was when he had left it, and no one had caused any physical damage to the car to get into it.
