Medical Bonus Enhancement - Pdf Download

Has the Medical Bonus under Sec-8 of the Maternity Benefit Act 1961 been enhanced to Rs. 1000/- from the present eligibility limit of Rs. 250/-? If so, what is the effective date? Kindly appraise.

The amendment bill was introduced/presented on May 1st, 2007. According to your attachment, it was enacted/passed on April 2008. However, the amended Act of 2008 states that it shall come into force on a date determined by the central Government through notification in the official gazette. The question remains: has the Central Govt. issued the notification regarding the date of applicability or not? We kindly request you to specify and guide us.

Can anybody give me details of the medical bonus under the Maternity Benefit Act? Has it been increased to Rs. 1000 or Rs. 2500?

So far, from what I have been seeing under the ESI Act, maternity benefits have been set at 2500. However, under the Maternity Benefit Act, I still doubt whether it has been increased from 1000 to 2500. I am in the process of finding out...

Regarding the medical bonus amounts of Rs. 2500 and Rs. 1000, we are uncertain about the date of applicability for the Rs. 1000 bonus. If you have any notifications regarding the increase from Rs. 250 to Rs. 1000, please provide them as most sites still display the medical bonus rate as Rs. 250.
