First of all, the company will apply for registration under the Contract Labour Act. The company will deposit the requisite fee for this purpose. The registration form and the challan of the deposited fee will be submitted for registration. After obtaining the registration, the contractor will apply for a license, and the security deposit will be made through a challan based on the number of employees. Then, the contractor will receive the license from the Labour Department.

To be more specific, first finalize the issue of the appropriate government, i.e., Central or State, in respect of the company where the contractor has undertaken the work for the principal employer. If State Govt., then we are to refer to those State CL (R&A) Rules to understand the procedure for obtaining a contract labor license. In general, we are to apply to the declared Licensing Officer of the area in Form IV in triplicate (application for license) along with the required license and security fees as prescribed under the State/Central Rules. Attach a copy of the RC and Form V, a certificate to be obtained from the PE. The application is to be sent by registered post or delivered personally.

Dear all,

Printed copies of challans are ordinarily available at civil courts, tehsil offices, bookstores, etc. It would be better to approach your local labor office to obtain details on the account head for security and license fee deposits, as well as for other relevant information.

If the company has centralized registration at one location (generally Head Office) under CLRA, can any Registering Authority (ALC/RLC) refuse to issue a license locally by asking to take local registration at his office.

Can anyone tell me the treasury amount for Contact Labour Registration? It's urgent.
