Usually, those who have completed a Master's in Social Work (MSW) will be preferred for positions as Welfare Officers, as they possess both theoretical and practical knowledge about Employee Welfare.

Dear Parul,

Appointment of LWO is made as per the requirements of the Factories Act, 1948. One has to go through the State Recruitment of Labour Welfare Officers Rules to examine the qualifications for this appointment. In general, an M.A. in Social Work is one of the recognized qualifications for this position.

In continuation of the above, it is also suggested that you may visit the office of your area Factory Inspector for this purpose.

Is a Master's in Social Work Necessary for an IR Profile in Corporates?

Will it be helpful to upgrade our profile from HR to IR?
