Managing Global Teams: What Are the Key Differences Across Japan, Europe, the US, and India?

Aparna Sethi
Dear All,

I would like to appeal to HR experts to provide insight on managing people from Japan, Europe, and the US. What are the major differences you find when managing people from the above countries compared to India? Or kindly share your practical experience in managing employees on global projects.

I am sure this information will be informative for all aspiring HR managers.

Aparna Sethi.

Dear Aparna,

There is a monthly magazine named "Human Capital." For a long time, Renu Mattoo used to write a column in this magazine on dealing with individuals from various countries. I recommend that you try to obtain this magazine as it provides a good amount of information on the psychology of various nationalities.

Ok...

Dear Aparna,

One very important aspect of International HR is International Labour laws. Since you will be responsible for their HR process and initiative implementation, you should also be aware of the local labour laws.

I suggest you also visit www.ilo.org for information on the local labour laws of the countries registered in ILO.

Best Regards,
Shweta Dubey
