The way you are interested to assess your employee is covering a braod area. in case of employee assessment both the potential & performance appraisal is necessary . Potential assessment results the inner instinct, talent of the employee, whereas performance speaks about the out come of employee inner quality. in a more clear sense performance denotes employee's ability to use his talent.
In any employee appraisal both the side to be covered. thru potential appraisal you can get the idea where the employee is strong and where he needs your councelling or needs improvement . And consequently the assessment of his performance can easily be monitored.
