The way you are interested in assessing your employees covers a broad area. In the case of employee assessment, both potential and performance appraisals are necessary. Potential assessment reveals the inner instinct and talent of the employee, whereas performance appraisal reflects the outcome of the employee's inner quality. In a clearer sense, performance denotes an employee's ability to utilize their talent.
In any employee appraisal, both aspects need to be covered. Through potential appraisal, you can understand where the employee's strengths lie and where they may require counseling or improvement. Subsequently, monitoring the assessment of their performance becomes more manageable.
