Understanding Privilege Leave: Can It Be Carried Forward and What Are the Rules?

sonofsun
Dear All,

Please clarify my doubt regarding the Privilege Leave.

1) Can Privilege Leave be carried forward to the next year?

2) Under which act does Privilege Leave fall?

3) What is the eligibility to avail Privilege Leave?

4) How many days are allowed for Privilege Leave?

5) Are there any norms regarding this?

6) Is Privilege Leave included in the Full and Final settlement?

Please advise.

Dear,

Please go through the state act. If you are registered under the Factory Act, please follow it. If not, consider registering under the Shop & Establishment Act and review its guidelines. You will find the answers you are looking for.

Yes, PL (Paid Leave) can be encashed at the time of Full and Final settlement if there is a balance in the employee's account.

Dear Vipin,

Vipin has rightly said that you have to be specific about the act because the Factories Act has different provisions, and different states have different provisions of leave under the Shop and Establishment Act.

Thanks,
JS Malik
