Terminated Employee's Salary: Should They Get Paid for 19 Days, Full Month, or Nothing?

Employee is terminated by the 20th of February by the company. How many days' salary is he entitled to get - 19 days, a full month, or no payment? Please guide.

He should get paid till his last working days, but if your termination clause talks about the notice period in lieu in case of termination, then you have to pay him the notice period as well. Discuss with your management about the notice period, and if they say that it doesn't apply to him, then explain the reason to him and pay him until his last working day and provide him with all relevant documents.

Besides notice pay, he is entitled to retrenchment compensation as per the ID Act of 1947.
