Employee Transfer Dilemma: What Can You Do If the New Location Isn't Suitable?

Rajesh1975
An employee is working in a private company for 2.5 years and above. His employer transfers him to another place with the support of an appointment letter because transferable rules are mentioned in the appointment letter. The new place is not suitable for the employee. Does he have any options?

Dear Mr. Rajesh,

An employee has the following options based on the clause mentioned in the Appointment Letter in case of any transfer:

1) An employee can accept the transfer with a transfer letter.
2) An employee can put down his/her resignation and demand to work at the same location as before the transfer.
3) An employee can resign and search for a new job.

Any of these options are available.

Dear Rajesh,

I very much agree with Mr. Amit. Because it is clearly mentioned in the appointment letter that your services can be transferred to another place at the discretion of management. You have to accept the transfer letter or else resign like Ankit said.

Vipin :)
