Sajid has posted the call for a meeting for the UAE Forum meet no. 2.

All new members are kindly requested to read the Minutes of the Meeting No. 1 posted here and to contribute with constructive suggestions and ideas to make it really beneficial for all of us.

I would also like to add the following:

- For any candidates looking for job placement assistance, it would be nice to post your detailed resume in Word format with a JPEG photo of yourself enclosed and with active contact details mentioned. This will simplify the screening process and help those looking for a prospective candidate without wasting time on initial communication.

- For all those posting available job openings, kindly note to include basic information such as a short job description, approximate years of experience expected, salary + benefits offered, and most significantly, whether they are looking for male or female candidates. This is again initiated to simplify the time and effort spent on extracting these details.

It was a good experience to meet some of the HR professionals in UAE during the first meet. Being novice to HR, I am confident that this forum would provide me good knowledge in HR practices!
As per the discussions during the meet, please look into to have presentation/discussion on the following during the next meet: -

• I quite often come across situations of emergency leaves – restrictions from the management due to work requirements. Pls help!
• Short term course on HR in U.A.E
• I understand that Ms. Brucha has vast experience in HR Training, which should be made use of.

Appreciate Mr. Sajid, Tushar, Ramesh, Ms. Mildred, Mujeeba, Dr. Bharti for your initiatives.

Thank you for the suggestions. We will now be forming a list of topics to circulate to the members. The list will include topics for two activities:

1. A 20-minute presentation on HR topics.
2. 5 topics for discussion.

We can include your first suggestion - Emergency Leaves - in the discussion activity. Short courses in HR should be covered in the presentation that Mr. Ramesh will deliver on 29th August.

Once we receive all topic nominations, we will select the most frequently sought-after topics and finalize the discussion topics. The same process goes for presentations. There is no judging panel for this. We will exchange emails and finalize our topics for MEET TWO, which will be part of our MEET TWO AGENDA.

Please understand the real objective of the 20-minute presentations.

1. Learning & Development
2. Sharing of Problems and seeking solutions. (Live Case Study)

We have already booked two topics out of 3, and these two are both dedicated towards Objective No. 1 – Learning.

We are left with only one topic out of 3, and we should give it for Objective No. 2 – Sharing of Problems and Seeking solutions. (Live Case Study)

Hence, we are over with the topics for the coming meet. Now, what we seek is ONE LIVE HRM/HRD CASE STUDY – PROBLEM-SOLUTION Presentation.

Who would propose it? I am sure we will get more than 4 to 5 proposals, and we will obviously choose one of the most challenging ones for all members to get charged up with their ideas and inputs in the forthcoming meet.
