How Do the New Minimum Wage Rates in Haryana Affect You and Your Workplace?

The minimum rate of wages in Haryana has been revised. Now, the minimum wage in Haryana is Rs. 3586, 138 per day for unskilled workers. For semi-skilled (A), it is Rs. 3716, 143 per day. For semi-skilled (B), it is Rs. 3846, 148 per day. For skilled (A), it is Rs. 3976, 153 per day. For skilled (B), it is Rs. 4106, 158 per day. Highly skilled workers receive Rs. 4236, 163 per day.

In Haryana State, the revision or re-fixation of minimum rates of wages is mostly done every five years. The minimum rates of wages are being increased every six months due to the rise in consumer price index numbers. We have not yet received the CPI numbers for the period from July to December 2009 so far. Please wait until the end of February 2010 for these numbers. Under which Act are you requiring information about these minimum holidays?

In general, Consumer Price Index numbers are declared by the competent authority in Haryana under The Minimum Wages Act at the end of February or in the first week of March. So, please wait for some time. We will supply the information on time for our members at the Law & Legal Issues forum.
